An emperor’s Chinese robe, from the 17th century Quinlong

dynasty, is a current piece at Bonham’s Auction House in

London. It was a British officer’s and the family is asking a

starting of 150,000 pounds for the garment. The robe has

nine embroidered dragons which are symbols of rain and

fertility. China and England have had a record of

imperialism, but eyes are on ancient Chinese fashion.
