In December, the New York Sotheby’s will hold an auction called “Lady Blue Eyes”(named after the memoir she wrote) which will allow bidders the opportunity to own over 200 possessions which belonged to Frank Sinatra and his fourth wife, Barbara. Frank Sinatra’s singing, acting and Rat Pack status lasted for 40 years. A fair amount of his personal collection will interest buyers. Manuscripts from films such as; “From Here to Eternity” and “Oceans 11”, his own paintings, a Norman Rockwell portrait of Frank, a Picasso, pictures with presidents and golf memorabilia are ready to go to lucky owners. Barbara Sinatra, a model, showgirl, Frank Sinatra’s next door neighbor and philanthropist, made her own debut in Palm Springs, California. The couple lived happily together for many decades. Some of the Barbara Sinatra items up for auction are her 20.6 carat engagement ring , which Mr. Sinatra put in a champagne glass as he proposed, ruby and diamond bracelets , a turquoise parure. Most of the jewels are from Van Cleef and Arpels and Marina P. France. There is a Faberge picture frame and other items from their marriage and her career. Barbara Sinatra died last year at the age of 90. Frank was known for his small town beginnings in Hoboken to NY, NY.. As he sang; “If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere, it’s up to you NY, NY or “We did it my Way” conjure up iconic memories of a bygone Hollywood era. Proceeds from the auction will go to The Barbara Sinatra Foundation / Children Center in Rancho Mirage, California which prevents and provides therapy for child abuse.
